Do you want brighter teeth but feel overwhelmed by the variety of options? Cosmetic studios tempt you with low prices, while dental practices charge more. The treatment is carried out under dental supervision and takes into account the individual needs of your teeth. Whether you have sensitive teeth or want to whiten more severely discolored teeth, we will find the right solution. After bleaching, you will receive clear recommendations for care to ensure that your teeth remain optimally protected and the radiant result lasts for a long time.

How to find the right whitening provider in Vienna

Understand the most important differences and quality criteria for safe and professional teeth whitening in Vienna.

Dentist vs. beauty salon: what's the difference?

At the dentist, bleaching is carried out under medical supervision, which allows higher concentrations of hydrogen peroxide and enables more intensive results.

Cosmetic studios in Austria are only allowed to use low-dose products, which often do not achieve the desired whitening effect. The dentist also carries out a health check before treatment to rule out risks such as tooth decay or gum disease. Dental care guarantees you safety and medically sound results.

5 quality criteria for safe tooth whitening

  • Dental supervision – The treatment is carried out under medical supervision with tested bleaching gels with CE marking.
  • Professional tooth cleaning beforehand – tartar and plaque are removed before bleaching so that the gel can work evenly.
  • Thorough preliminary examination – A comprehensive dental health examination rules out complications and ensures an optimal result.
  • Gum protection – A professional barrier prevents irritation and ensures pain-free treatment.
  • Transparent information – clear information on risks, costs and realistic expectations before treatment.

Which bleaching method is right for you?

In-office bleaching is suitable for anyone who wants quick and visible results and wants to complete the treatment in one session.

Home bleaching with customized trays offers flexibility for use at home over several days.

The choice depends on your tooth color, your time budget and the type of discoloration.

Our bleaching methods

I can HIGHLY recommend it!!!

Dr. Quidenus is competent and friendly. He has new machines and I think that makes a big difference. I didn't have anything serious, just fillings, but I still felt very comfortable in the practice. The whole team is extremely nice and helpful.

How much does tooth bleaching cost in Vienna?

The cost of tooth whitening varies depending on the method chosen and individual requirements. As an elective surgery, we offer you professional treatments at the highest level, although health insurance companies do not usually cover the costs of aesthetic teeth whitening.

In-office bleaching in our practice comprises a complete session with a preliminary examination, professional teeth cleaning and the actual bleaching treatment. This method delivers fast and intensive results that are immediately visible. The investment is particularly worthwhile if you need a beautiful smile quickly.

For exact price information tailored to your personal situation, please give us a call or write to us on WhatsApp.

Home bleaching with individual trays is a more cost-effective alternative that still delivers professional results. You receive custom-made trays and the appropriate bleaching gel for use at home. This method requires a little more time, but offers maximum flexibility.

Frequently asked questions about tooth whitening

Professional bleaching lasts between one and three years with good care. The exact durability depends heavily on your lifestyle habits. If you regularly consume coloring foods and drinks such as coffee, red wine or berries, the color may fade a little faster. Smoking also shortens the shelf life. With consistent oral hygiene and regular professional teeth cleaning, you can maintain optimal results.

No, professional bleaching at the dentist is not harmful to the tooth structure. The bleaching gels we use with hydrogen peroxide are tested and do not attack the tooth enamel. The gel penetrates the enamel to dissolve intrinsic discoloration without damaging the structure. When used correctly, your enamel remains intact and healthy.

Most patients experience bleaching at the dentist as painless. Some experience a slight temporary sensitivity during or after the treatment, which disappears after one or two days. We use modern gels that contain desensitizing agents to minimize this effect. For sensitive teeth, we adjust the concentration individually.

Yes, whitening is also possible with sensitive teeth. The important thing is that we use specially adapted bleaching gels with a lower concentration. Desensitizing agents in the gel reduce the sensitivity of the teeth. The application time is shortened to avoid irritation. A thorough preliminary examination clarifies the cause of the sensitivity.

Fillings, crowns and veneers cannot be whitened as they are made of artificial materials. The bleaching gel only works on the natural tooth structure. If you have existing dentures, there may be color differences after bleaching. In this case, we recommend replacing the old fillings or crowns after the teeth have been whitened so that everything looks harmonious again.

On average 2 to 4 shades on the VITA shade guide, depending on the initial shade and type of discoloration. Extrinsic discolorations (from the outside) are easier to remove. Intrinsic discolorations (inside the tooth) require more intensive treatment. We will discuss realistic expectations during the consultation.

In-office whitening is done in our practice with highly concentrated gel and LED activation for immediate results in 60 to 90 minutes. Home whitening uses customized trays with a lower concentration of gel that you wear at home every day for one to two weeks. Both methods are effective and safe – the choice depends on your time budget and personal preferences.

An in-office whitening session takes about 60 to 90 minutes. This time includes: Preparation and protection of the gums (15 minutes), application of the whitening gel and application time (45-60 minutes), conclusion and debriefing (15 minutes).

You should avoid coloring foods and drinks for the first 48 hours. Avoid coffee, tea, red wine, cola, berries, tomato sauce, dark chocolate and curry. Smoking should also be avoided during this time. This “white diet” ensures that the teeth take on the new color optimally and that the result remains stable in the long term.

In principle, you can have your teeth whitened as necessary. However, there should be at least six to twelve months between two complete treatments to allow the teeth to recover. Refresher treatments with lower concentrations are possible more frequently. We recommend assessing the need individually and only bleaching if the teeth are actually darkened.
